Why Less Is More For Exercise
Exercise is very important. Athletes enjoy a longer life, and better weight management. While those benefits exist, it’s just not enough motivation for people to exercise. They picture themselves spending hours at the gym. That’s the only way exercise can be effective, right? Well, it turns out a little goes a long way. Even some exercise is better than none at all. 1
You’ll Stick To It
It’ll be much more difficult to stick to an exercise that lasts for hours than one that’s half an hour. The important part of any fitness program is how long you’ll do it in the long run. However, this doesn’t mean that you’ll always look forward to exercising.
Throughout a busy work week, exercising might seem overwhelming. You may even feel exhausted. Thankfully, your quick exercise can be done in all parts of the day, like during your lunch break.
Just As Effective
If you want to up the ante, make the exercise more intense. In general, quicker exercise routines have increased difficulty, like high-intensity interval training, or HIIT. Since HIIT is very intense, you should only do HIIT a couple of times a week. 2
