- Snorkel. Snorkeling can be a safe way to enjoy the beauty of the ocean and its colorful sea life. Since you’ll be breathing out of a tube, you’ll need to be in shallow water. Make sure to check with the lifeguard if it’s safe to go in the ocean, be on the lookout for beach warning flags or signs, and never go snorkeling alone.
