Feeling tired all the time or having low energy can all be signs of lifestyle issues, like a lack of sleep or inactivity.  Supercharge your day with these five fatigue-fighting tips.

1. Hit the Gym

Exercise has many impressive benefits, one of them being a boost in energy levels.  That’s because our bodies release endorphins during exercise, which give us energy.  Take the stairs instead of the elevator and do some pushups during your lunch break.

2. Make Sleep a Priority

Less sleep means less energy, and less energy means that we’re less likely to exercise.  Aim for at least eight hours of sleep at night and follow a consistent sleep schedule.

3. Eat Complex Carbohydrates

At mealtime, choose foods rich in complex carbohydrates, like oats, sweet potatoes, and black beans.  Complex carbohydrates take longer for the body to break down, keeping you fuller for longer and keeping your energy stable.

4. Drink Water

Did you know that fatigue is a symptom of dehydration?  Keep a bottle of water or use a big reusable water bottle and take frequent sips.  And pay attention to the color of your urine.  The lighter your urine, the more hydrated you are.

5. Get Sunlight

Sunlight naturally wakes us up and gives us energy, thanks to our circadian rhythm.  Our circadian rhythm regulates our sleep-wake cycle by taking in cues of lightness and darkness.
